La Herradura is gelegen aan de Costa Tropical. Door zijn uitstekende ligging tussen de hoge bergen van de Siërra Nevada en de Middellandse zee is er sprake van een tropisch klimaat het hele jaar door. La Herradura is een dorp met prachtige stranden om te relaxen.

La Herradura is een klein dorp met alle voorzieningen voor uw dagelijkse behoeften, tevens is het grotere Almuñécar nabij gelegen met al zijn voorzieningen. Beiden kunnen voorzien aan de toeristische behoeftes door de variëteit aan restaurants en traditionele lokale bars. Het oude gedeelte van La Herradura met de kleine straatjes en de witte huisjes geeft u het typische Andalusische gevoel.

Het dorp is gelegen tussen “La Punta de la Mona” en “Marina del Este” aan de oostkant en “Peñon de Cerro Gordo” aan de westkant. Door de baai is het strand beschermd tegen de oostelijke en westelijke winden. Marina del Este heeft een kleine jachthaven. Cerro Gordo is het nationale park waar een groot aantal huizen van boven tot aan beneden bij de zee gebouwd zijn. Het strand bij Cerro Gordo genaamd Cantarijan is idyllisch.

Almuñécar is situated in the Province of Granada and has become one of the most important tourist towns. Almuñécar is a municipality in the Spanish Autonomous Region of Andalusia and has a subtropical climate.

In the direct surroundings are situated the villages Otívar, Jete, Salobreña and the municipal of Nerja (Malaga). This area is one of the most important subtropical fruit producers, like fruits as advocates, cherimoyas, mangos, kiwis, guayabas etc. That’s why it is now called the Costa Tropical.

Almuñécar has it´s own football (soccer) stadium and all facilities you can expect from a big city. From Almuñécar you drive in 1 hour to Granada´s historical centre or in 1,5 hour to the ski resort of Sierra Nevada.
